We are a matching desk, not a fleet. You tell us the island, dates, cart size, and pickup point. We send that request to licensed local rental companies on Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker and get back with availability and a quote. You then confirm directly, usually on WhatsApp.

Yes. The primary renter and anyone else who will drive need a valid driver’s license from their home country. Carry the physical license whenever you are driving — police in San Pedro do check. Most operators require drivers to be 18, and some set the minimum at 21.

In 2025–2026, a 4-seater typically runs about US$35–$55 per day and a 6-seater about US$50–$75 per day. Weekly rentals are cheaper per day, often in the US$175–$300 range for a 4-seater. Christmas, Easter, spring break, and Lobster Fest week cost more and sell out faster.

Most companies will meet you at the San Pedro airstrip, the water taxi terminal, or deliver to your hotel or Airbnb. If you are staying north of the Sir Barry Bowen Bridge, say so when you request a quote so the operator can plan a north-island drop-off.

Yes. Secret Beach is on the west side of Ambergris Caye, north of town. The drive is usually 30–50 minutes depending on traffic, road work, and weather. You will cross the bridge, stay on the main north road, then follow signs west. Fill the tank in town — there is no reliable fuel at Secret Beach — and take it slow on the unpaved stretches after rain.

Not always. The island is compact and many visitors walk or bike. Rent a cart if you have luggage, small children, limited mobility, midday heat, or a stay at the north or south ends. Supply is thinner than in San Pedro, so book ahead in peak season.

On Ambergris Caye, rental carts are typically gas-powered. Fuel is inexpensive relative to the daily rate — often a few US dollars a day. Fill up before long runs north. Caye Caulker has a smaller mix of carts; ask when you book.

Most local operators include basic coverage in the rate. Damage from reckless driving, driving under the influence, unlocked carts, or taking a cart where it should not go is usually excluded. We will ask the partner to spell out the deductible and what is covered before you confirm.

A valid driver’s license, a credit card for the security hold, and your hotel name or pin. If you land at the airstrip, have your flight number handy. If you arrive by water taxi, tell us which ferry so the driver can wait at the right dock.

For December through April, Easter week, and early July, reserve as soon as your lodging is confirmed — carts disappear, especially 6-seaters. In the rainy months (June, September, October) you can often book a few days out, but a request still helps us lock a fair rate.
