Town, on purpose
Park once and walk Front Street if you came to browse. Use the cart for Central Park, the grocery run (Super Buy, Island Supermarket, and the north-end shops), the airstrip strip of tour offices, and dinner that is not next door. Midday heat makes this more valuable than it looks from a hotel pool.
North of the bridge
This is why many visitors rent for the whole stay. Resorts, quieter beaches, and beach clubs scatter for miles. Keep the tank above half before you commit. If your hotel is already north, you still want the cart for town twice a day rather than a pair of US$25 taxi legs.
Secret Beach
One dedicated day is enough for most people. Clubs, shallow water, music. Leave extra time after rain. Full notes: Secret Beach by golf cart.
South of town
Shorter, calmer, good for a beach hour without the north-road project. Watch unmarked speed bumps and residential driveways.
What a cart is bad at
Reef trips. Hol Chan and Shark Ray still start with a boat. Mainland Belize, the zoo, and ATM cave are not cart country — those are water taxi plus van. Do not try to “see the whole island” in one afternoon; Ambergris is longer than social media implies.
